Public comment on Agenda Item 10

  • 500 W Temple St. Rm. 383 Los Angeles, CA 90012 (map)

Dear Neighbor,

We often hear concerns from residents in unincorporated communities across our district on the lack of parking enforcement and how it prevents street cleanings, makes it difficult for customers to access small businesses in their neighborhood, and makes our streets unsafe by blocking the public right-of-way. Constituents have reported delayed response times ranging from a few days to over a week or no response at all.

To help solve this issue, I have put forth a motion (Agenda Item 10) - to be voted on this Tuesday, Oct 17 - that would transfer parking enforcement from the Sheriff's Department to the Department of Public Works Transportation Services Division; this is aligned with how many other government entities in the region implement parking enforcement and will help support the bandwidth needed to reach the over 120 unincorporated communities that count on the County to deliver this critical service that impacts the quality of life for our residents.

If this issue impacts you, we want to hear from you. Please join us this Tuesday, Oct 17, at 9:30 a.m. to share your opinion on Agenda Item 10 in person, over the phone, or with a written comment.
